Welcome to Cobscook Bay Cottages
Looking for solitude, great views, ocean breezes, fields, rugged coastline, and woods to explore? Then you will not be disappointed at this remote, two hundred acre former 'salt water farm', situated on pristine Cobscook Bay. We offer a return to the past when life was much simpler in a restful, scenic location and a remote setting not often found on the coast of Maine.
At Cobscook Bay Cottages you will rediscover nature. Famous for its bald eagle population, Cobscook Bay also is home to loons, ducks, sandpipers, coot, and terns. A birder spotted over 100 different birds one foggy week last summer! Wildlife such as moose, deer, rabbits, and foxes may also greet you; and since Cobscook Bay has some of the highest and lowest tides in the word, a kayaker might see a seal or two soaking up the sun on the low tide ledges.
My wife Linda and I will be your hosts. We provide bikes and kayaks for your use, or you can just curl up on the porch with a good book, watch the incredible sunrises, stroll along gravel beaches, hike four miles of trails, explore seaside coves, enjoy wildflowers and birds or try your hand at a Maine pastime, clamming. At the end of the day, take in the incredible sunsets and then view the stars. However you spend your time, it will be an enjoyable experience.
